une is Youth Month in South Africa, and EKS Vehicle Tracking proudly celebrates the country’s 40 million young people. This year, we’re highlighting the importance of our youth’s education, employment, and empowerment. As we celebrate our youth, it’s also vital to acknowledge their challenges.

Of the 40 million people that make up our youth, 20.51 million falls between 15 and 34 years of age. Of that, 41.92% (8.6 million) are neither in school nor employed.

In short, our country is facing a significant challenge. Our teenagers and young adults need support from both government and businesses to gain access to education, development initiatives, and empowerment opportunities.

As a company, we at EKS are proud to commit to this theme.

Being a “Young Organization”

EKS Vehicle Tracking was founded in 2016, making us a relatively young company. We’re dedicated to creating a “young” environment where our teams can learn, work, and thrive.

Most of our employees are young, driven South Africans. They want to work with a business dedicated to their growth and willing to provide them with the support they need and the respect they deserve. EKS is proud to be that company.

We’re proud of each and every one of our fantastic team members.

Empowerment Opportunities for South African Youth: Our Values and Commitment this Youth Month

“You must have five years experience for an entry-level position, but no one will employ me so that I can gain experience to qualify for an entry-level position. So, to gain experience, I need experience…”

It’s a common complaint amongst our youth. Variations of this quote have been making rounds on social media as young, recently graduated adults highlight the irony of needing experience while no one is willing to allow them to gain the knowledge they need. If qualified candidates are facing these challenges, what of our uneducated youth failed by the system?

This Youth Month, we want to make it clear that we’re dedicated to seeing our young people grow.

It’s not enough to say that we’re committed to SA’s youth – we show it through our values and company goals, initiatives, and recruitment drives. EKS Vehicle Tracking will frequently display career opportunities on the careers page of our website. Many of these are geared towards young people who need working experience.

We focus on nurturing young talent rather than making it impossible for young adults to qualify for a position. We also provide training and learning opportunities, further empowering our youth.

Conclusion

We know that it’s our youth that’ll shape the future socio-economic landscape of our country. This Youth Month, and every month, it’s vital that we focus on our young people and give them the tools they need to succeed.

As a company, we’re committed to employing South African youths and empowering them through training opportunities. In our own, small way, we’re helping our young people to build a brighter, stronger South Africa.
